The Project Overview form helps determine the type, size, and scope of your construction or remodeling project to gather as much information as possible to prepare for the initial site visit.
We offer a no-charge, no-obligation site visit. During this 1-2 hour meeting we will work together to make sketches, take pictures and discuss your project in depth, making sure we understand your needs, style, accessories, existing systems etc.
After our initial meeting, we’ll provide a detailed initial estimate that includes a line item breakdown for your project. This estimate will be the template we use going forward.
In the pre-construction/planning phase we will discuss construction start date, construction end date, production schedule and working hours, how to prepare your home for the remodel, parking for our crew, home security and project safety, children and pets and their access to the construction area, dust and damage control, location of debris, location of portable restroom and location of job sign and document box. Please feel free to ask any questions at any time. We are always here to help.
When you accept the rough estimate and sign a Letter of Intent, you’ll have some fun working with our design team. Depending on the complexity of your project, we can provide simple sketches or detailed computer generated drawings of your project. Together we will sign a detailed contract outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties to be used as a “road map” to take us to a successful completion of the project.
The construction phase is very exciting. You will begin to see the transformation of idea to reality of your home. We make every effort to ensure your experience is as pleasant, comfortable and rewarding as possible. For us, the quality of the experience is as important as the quality of the final product.
Our goal is to see your project through to perfection. When we are nearing the end of the project, we will ”walk through” the project with you to review our work and answer questions you may have. We will develop a “punch list” of items to completed before the project is finalized.
Mountain West Construction has a reputation for customer satisfaction. We comply with NARI and NHBA standards. Our goal is your satisfaction, from foundation to finish!
Remodeling is exciting. It's fun to make design choices. It's creative and absorbing. It's rewarding to make a dream a reality, but it's also chaotic, messy, and challenging.
Erich Leatham never lets a homeowner operate under the illusion that a remodeling project is a walk in the park.
"It's a major disruption in my clients' lives," Erich said. "Strangers are going to be in their home for weeks or months at a time. That's why we take precautions to minimize our clients' stress."
Communication between the homeowner and the remodeler is critical to a smooth, less stressful experience. Mountain West Constructions uses a number of communication methods including email, phone, and old-fashioned face-to-face meetings. In the coming year, a new online system will enhance communication with in-progress photos, product selections and a response system.
Remodeling doesn't have to be an emotional rollercoaster. With a good contractor who is sensitive to your expectations and needs, and is adept at communicating before and during the process, remodeling can be exciting, fun and rewarding.
Mountain West Construction can work from homeowner supplied architectural plans or provide design/build services. Customer service and communication are a key ingredient to a successful project. Some describe design/build as the answer to a homeowner's or business owner's prayer. Others describe it as a savings of time and money. Erich Leatham owner of Mountain West Construction, describe it as "plain common sense."
Design/build is a process where an entire remodeling project from the initial design concepts, drawings and budgets to permits, regulations and zoning laws to actual construction and final walk through are organized and performed by a single entity, a single point of contact, a single point of responsibility. That single point is Mountain West Construction.
The efficiency of this process allows for tight control of costs; management of the construction schedule; and a quick turn-around between design, construction and completion. Design/build prevents remodeling horror stories. When Erich Leatham takes on a project, senior staff oversees the entire process, ensuring that the project will be delivered on time and on budget.
Design/build just makes sense.
